F. William McNabb III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. McNabb joined Vanguard in 1986, became chief executive officer in 2008, and chairman of the board of directors and the board of trustees in 2009. Previously, he led each of Vanguard’s client-facing business divisions, most recently serving as managing director of Vanguard’s institutional and international businesses. Mr. McNabb is active in the investment management industry, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Investment Company Institute’s Board of Governors. He also serves on the boards of the Zoological Society of Philadelphia and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
Mortimer J. (Tim) Buckley, managing director and Chief Investment Officer
Mortimer J. (Tim) Buckley, managing director, is the firm's chief investment officer, overseeing the portfolio management of Vanguard's internally managed stock, bond, and money market funds. Mr. Buckley started with Vanguard in 1991 as assistant to the chairman, and has held a number of senior leadership positions over his 20-year tenure, including head of the Retail Investor Group from 2006 to 2012 and Vanguard's chief information officer from 2001 to 2006. Mr. Buckley earned an A.B. in economics from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Kathy Gubanich, Managing Director
Kathy Gubanich is managing director of Human Resources, responsible for overseeing employee relations, corporate training, employment, compensation, and benefits. Ms. Gubanich joined Vanguard in 1986. She holds a B.B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MSOD from the University of Pennsylvania.
