Rory Macnamara, Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director
Rory Macnamara qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked in merchant banking with Morgan Grenfell for 17 years (during which time it was acquired by Deutsche Bank AG). He was a Director in Corporate Finance, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Vice Chairman of Morgan Grenfell & Co Limited. In 1999, he joined Lehman Brothers, where he was a Managing Director in UK Investment Banking until 2001. He now acts as a consultant to a number of companies and is currently Chairman of Essenden plc and Mecom Group PLC, and a director of Augean PLC, Dragon Ukrainian Properties & Development plc and Mears Group PLC.
John Carson, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr John Carson is a former partner of Baillie Gifford & Co, an independent firm of Investment Managers, where he headed the department responsible for client servicing and marketing. He is a chartered accountant and prior to joining Baillie Gifford was a partner in Arthur Young (which subsequently merged to become Ernst & Young).

Current Directorships: M D Hamilton Farms Ltd (subsidiary of H D H Wills 1965 Charitable Trust); Camphill Blairdrummond Trust Ltd (charity providing care for special needs adults in Stirlingshire) and Lanthorne Construction Ltd.

Catherine Claydon, Independent Non-Executive Director
Ms Claydon worked in London for Goldman Sachs International from 1992 until 2007, most recently as a Managing Director in their Pension & Insurance Strategies Group. Previously, she was global head of Goldman Sachs Commodity Index marketing. Catherine was an MD at Lehman Brothers in their Pension Advisory Group from 2007 until 2008. She is currently a director of Witan Investment Trust PLC and is an Independent Member of the Unilever UK Pension Fund Investment Committee.

She is the founder & CEO of Claydon Advisors Limited, and is also a member of the Board of the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe as well as a member of the Board of Governors of Virginia Primary School, Tower Hamlets.
Elisabeth Scott, Independent Non-Executive Director
Ms Scott worked for Schroders in Hong Kong from 1992 until 2008, most recently as Country Head. Previously she was responsible for Schroders’ institutional client business in Hong Kong and managed multi-asset portfolios. She chaired the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association between 2005 and 2007. She is a director of Pacific Horizon Investment Trust PLC, Fidelity China Special Situations Investment Trust PLC and Allianz Technology Trust PLC.
David Barron, Independent Non-Executive Director
David Barron is a Chartered Accountant and is a director of Miton Group plc, where he holds the role of Director of Investment Trusts and Product Strategy. He is also a non-executive director of Artemis Alpha Trust plc and a Member of the Council and Audit Committee of Lancaster University. He was, until 2013, Head of Investment Trusts of JP Morgan Asset Management and, until 2014, a director of The Association of Investment Companies.
Jasper Judd, Independent Non-Executive Director
Jasper Judd is a Chartered Accountant. Until 2012, he worked for Brambles Limited, a listed Australian multinational, where he held a number of senior executive roles including Global Head of Strategy. He is also a non-executive director of JP Morgan Indian Investment Trust plc.
