Headquartered in Moscow, X5 Retail Group (LSE: FIVE, Moody's - ""B2"", S&P - ""B+"") is Russia's largest retailer in terms of revenue. The Company operates several retail formats: the soft discounter chain under the Pyaterochka brand, the supermarket chain under the Perekrestok brand, the hypermarket chain under the Karusel brand, the online retail channel under brand and convenience stores under various brands.
As at 30 June 2012, X5 had 3,298 Company-operated stores. It has the leading market position in both Moscow and St. Petersburg and a significant presence in the European part of Russia. Its store base includes 2,783 soft discounter stores, 341 supermarkets, 77 hypermarkets and 97 convenience stores. The Company operates 28 DCs and 1,539 Company-owned trucks across the Russian Federation.
X5 is run on an SAP platform.
As at 30 June 2012, X5’s direct franchisees operated 399 stores across Russia.
For the full year 2011, net sales totaled USD 15,455 mln, EBITDA reached USD 1,130 mln, and net profit amounted to USD 302 mln. For the first quarter 2012, net sales totaled USD 3,871 mln, EBITDA reached USD 274 mln and net profit amounted to USD 66 mln.
X5 Shareholder structure is as follows: Alfa Group – 47.86%, founders of Pyaterochka – 19.85%, X5 Directors – 0.14%, treasury shares – 0.11%, free float – 32.04%.


Dmitry Gimmelberg, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining X5, Dmitry Gimmelberg served as Deputy CEO for Strategic Development at Locomotive Technologies (part of TransMashHolding Group). From 2012 to 2015, he held senior roles within the Basic Element Group operating company. In these positions he oversaw a number of strategic transformations at operating companies, established management and financial reporting systems and led a project management office. Between 2008 and 2011 Dmitry Gimmelberg held management positions at Invest AG, a Russia and CIS focused investment advisory business. Prior to that, in 2002-2006, he worked for Ritzio Entertainment, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President for Finance, Legal Affairs, International Development and Property. Before that he worked in the FMCG sector, when he held the position as Finance Director for Russian Standard Vodka. Education: Dmitry graduated with honors from the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University and holds an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management.​
Alexander Ermolenko, Logistics Director
Year of birth: 1960 Expertise: Alexander joined X5 in August 2011. From 1987 to 2000, he was deputy Director of Communication, Electro-navigation and Information Department of the Novorossiysk shipping company. From 2000 to 2010 he served as Deputy CEO for logistics at OAO Magnit. Education: Alexander graduated in 1987 with honors from Novorossiysk Marine-Engineering Academy, Radio Engineering Faculty.
Igor Shekhterman, Igor Shekhterman
Igor served on X5’s Supervisory Board since 2013. He has been Managing Partner and CEO in RosExpert, which he co-founded in 1996 and has subsequently successfully developed into the Russian alliance partner of Korn/Ferry International. Igor started his career as finance manager at the Russian branch of Beoluna, the Japanese jewelry producer. Igor holds a degree in economics from the Kaliningrad Technical Institute (1992), and degrees in business administration from the Institute d'Administration des Enterprises (France, 1994) and the Danish Management School (1995).​
Anton Mironenkov, Mergers, Acquisitions and Business Development Director
Year of birth: 1976 Expertise: Anton joined X5 as Deputy Director in September 2006. From 2005 to 2006 Anton managed various projects in Alfa Group including the merger of Pyaterochka and Perekrestok. Anton began his business career in 2000 as an auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and subsequently spent four years as investment banker at Troika Dialog before his transfer in 2005 to Vice President position in Troika Dialog Asset Management. Education: Anton graduated with honors from Moscow State University in 1998 with a degree in economics.
Fabricio Granja, Chief Information Officer
Fabricio Granja joined X5 Retail Group in October 2016. Fabricio has an impressive track record in the field of IT. Before joining X5, he worked as Vice President for IT & Projects at Eldorado LLC, and was in charge of the company’s IT strategy. Fabricio held management positions at a number of Russian and international IT consulting firms, including Ciber, ABPL Altamiro Borges Planejamento & Logistica, and FQS, focusing on projects for major companies. Education: graduated from the Federal University of São Carlos (São Paulo, Brazil) with a Master’s Degree in IT.
Head of Corporate Security, General Counsel
Vladlena joined X5 in July 2013. She has over 30 years of legal experience in both Russian and multinational enterprises. Prior to joining X5, Vladlena was the Director of the Legal Department of Rolf, a leading automotive retail business in Russia. From 2001 to 2006, she was the Director of the Legal Department of Wrigley, where she was responsible for Eastern Europe and Middle East. Education: Vladlena graduated from the Legal faculty of Moscow State University.​
