Mohamed H Al-Mady, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mohamed H. Al-Mady has been Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) since July, 1998. He joined SABIC in 1976 with a Bachelor degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Master Degree from University of Wyoming, USA both degrees in Chemical Engineering. He has held various key positions within the Company.
Mr. Al-Mady’s additional responsibilities includes the following: - Chairman, Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA). - Member, International Business Council, World Economic Forum. - Member of the Board, Boao Forum for Asia. - Member, World Sustainability Council. - Fellow, London Business School. - Member, International Advisory Council, King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST). - Chairman and Managing Director, Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO).
Mr. Al-Mady delivered many keynote speeches, and specialized work papers at various industrial and economic conferences and forums of global, regional and domestic stands; besides the many encounters he had with press agencies, TV channels and other media on economic and industrial matters. Mr. Al-Mady received many awards among which are the following:
- Company of the Year (Chemicals) by the People’s Choice Stevie Award, 2011 - Elected by Colorado Engineering & Applied Sciences College among the gifted students with global scientific and industrial contributions in 2010. - International Petrochemical Heritage Award 2009 - Ranked among the Top 40 Best Power Players in the Chemical Industry by ICIS Chemical Business in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Mutlaq Al-Morished, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Finance
Mr. Mutlaq H. Al-Morished is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance (CFO) at SABIC.
Prior to his present post, he was Vice President of Metals SBU, VP Shared Services, President of SADAF and HADEED, consecutively. In addition, Mr. Al-Morished sits on the Board of ALBA (Bahrain) and Gulf1bank (Bahrain).
He is Chairman of the Board of YANSAB, SABIC Captive Insurance Company (SABCAP), SABIC Capital, SAUDI KAYAN and Alinma Capital Co.
Mr. AL-Morished holds an MBA degree from Stanford University, a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Princeton University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Physics & Mathematics from the University of Denver.
Ernesto Occhiello, Executive Vice-President, Technology and Innovation
Ernesto joined SABIC as Executive Vice President, Technology & Innovation, on August 15, 2011.
Prior to joining SABIC, Ernesto was a member of the Innovation and Growth Team for Dow Chemical Company in Switzerland where he contributed to the medium and long-term strategy of the company with other Executive leaders. In addition, he was responsible for R&D in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. His career with Dow began in 2001 and includes many director roles in R&D with leadership roles in technology development for specialty and performance products. His experience also includes manufacturing leadership and acquisition integration.
Ernesto holds a Laurea in Chemistry with Honors from the University of Turin where he was also contract professor of Chemistry of Materials. He has co-authored two books, more than 100 papers, communications to congresses and is responsible for more than 45 patents. He has more than 120 citations in SciFinder and an h-index of 19.
He has a strong history of leveraging innovation to achieve commercial success and fueling business growth in areas as diverse as propylene oxide manufacturing and formulations for wind energy.
