R Mukundan, Managing director
Ramakrishnan Mukundan is the managing director of Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL). An engineer from IIT Roorkee, Mr Mukundan, joined the Tata Administrative Service (TAS) in 1990.

After completing MBA from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), New Delhi and worked with Tata AutoComp Systems and Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School's advanced management program.

He joined TCL in 2001 and led various functions like strategy and business development, corporate quality, corporate planning, and manufacturing before taking over as the chief operating officer of the chemicals business of the company. He played an active role in the TCL transformation efforts in 2002, and also in the growth of domestic business as well as acquisition of new facilities in Brunner Mond (UK), Magadi Soda (Kenya) and General Chemicals (US).

Prior to being MD, he was the executive vice president (chemicals) and was responsible for the chemicals business and consumer products business of TCL and its subsidiaries.

Mr Mukundan is an active member in several industry forums like Indian Chemical Council, AMAI, FAI, FICCI, CII, and BCCI. He has in the past served with ACMA, past President EUICCI and AMAI. He is the Chairman of CII Western Region Council and heads the Manufacturing Committee at BCCI.

Prashant Kumar Ghose, Executive director and CFO
PK Ghose is executive director and CFO, Tata Chemicals (TCL). He was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company responsible for treasury, accounting, taxation, strategic finance, secretarial, and information technology.

He started his career with Tata Steel in 1973 and held several important positions in the company before becoming chief financial controller (corporate) of Tata Steel in 2001. He was elevated to the position of chief of strategic finance of Tata Steel later that year. After a successful stint at Jamshedpur, Mr Ghose joined TCL as CFO in 2002.

Mr Ghose was awarded CFO of the Year (cost optimisation) in 2003, CFO of the Year (deal of the year) in 2006, and CFO of the Year (best deal in M&A category) in 2009, by CNBC TV18.

Mr Ghose, 62, is a graduate in commerce and a member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is also an alumnus of the advanced international general management programme of CEDEP, France.
Dr Arup Basu, President, new businesses and innovation centre
Dr Arup Basu is president at Tata Chemicals, responsible for new businesses, corporate strategy and the company's Innovation Centre.

Prior to this, Dr Basu led the Indian chemicals business as its chief operating officer before which he was site head at Haldia, West Bengal, where Tata Chemicals manufactures its phosphatic chemicals and fertilisers.

Dr Basu joined Tata Chemicals from Accenture where he was responsible for business development and managing large-scale projects for clients in the industrial space. Prior to Accenture, he worked in a variety of roles at Indian Aluminium Company and at Tata Motors.

Dr Basu holds a PhD in composite materials from UMIST, Manchester, and a B.Eng in materials science and engineering from Imperial College London.
De Lyle Bloomquist, President, global chemicals business
De Lyle W Bloomquist is president, global chemical business of Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL). He has been in the chemicals industry for over 20 years. Prior to July 2009, he was the President & CEO of General Chemical Industrial Products Ltd (GCIP). Over the years he acquired experience in various functions including finance, sales, logistics, operations, IT, strategy and business development.He joined TCL when TCL acquired GCIP in March 2008. Mr Bloomquist has been in the chemicals industry for over 20 years with experience in various functions including finance, sales, logistics, operations, IT, strategy and business development. He led the transformation of GCIP in 2004 and 2005 to a highly profitable business after it emerged from bankruptcy reorganization. He has served on various Boards of Directors including Oglebay Norton Company, ANSAC and PDS Biotechnology Corporation.
Rajiv Chandan, General counsel and company secretary
Rajiv Chandan is a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has a masters' degree in commerce and a law degree from the University of Mumbai.Mr Chandan heads the legal and company secretarial functions of the company. He has 23 years of experience of in the areas of legal, company secretarial, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions including cross-border M&A transactions. His experience is spread across diverse industries, including the paper, automobiles, logistics, cement, chemicals, FMCG and fertilisers sectors.
