Federico Ghizzoni, Chief Executive Officer
Federico Ghizzoni was born in Piacenza (Italy) on October 14, 1955.
He holds a Degree in Law from University of Law in Parma and started his career in 1980 as customer relations manager at Credito Italiano's Piacenza Branch.
Having worked as the Head of Credit & Marketing Department at Piacenza Branch, Ghizzoni assumed the position of Branch Director in Trieste between 1988 and 1989. Continuing his career as Director of Seriate Branch between 1990 and 1992, Ghizzoni was appointed Deputy General Manager to Credito Italiano's London Office.
After having been appointed General Manager at the Singapore Office of Credito Italiano in 1995, Ghizzoni became Executive Director responsible for Corporate and International Banking between 2000 and 2002 at Bank Pekao S.A, affiliate of the UniCredit Group. In 2003 Ghizzoni started to work at Koç Financial Services, a 50-50 joint venture of Koç Holding and UniCredit Group.
In his capacity as Executive Board Member of Koç Financial Services and all its affiliates, Ghizzoni has also been serving in the upper management, responsible of auditing, risk management, planning and control. After the acquisition by Koç Financial Services of Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi and its affiliates, he become the COO & Executive Board Member of Koç Financial Services and COO & Vice Chairman of Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi.
In July 2007, he was appointed Head of Poland's Markets Division at UniCredit, Head of CEE Banking Operations and Board Member responsible for the CEE Banking Division at Bank Austria AG.
In August 2010 he assumed the position of Deputy CEO and Deputy General Manager of UniCredit.
Since 30 September 2010 he is Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit and since March 2011 is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank AG in Munich.
He is Chairman of the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala Association in Milan, Member of the Board of Directors of Institute of International Finance in Washington, Member of the International Monetary Conference in Washington and Member of the Institut International d’Etudes Bancaires in Brussels.
Roberto Nicastro, General Manager
Born in Trento, December 9,1964. Major in Business Administration, Bocconi University, under Professor Claudio Demattè tutorship.
Before joining UniCredit, he had been an investment banker in London with Salomon Brothers and later a strategic consultant in Milan with McKinsey & Co.
He joined UniCredit in May 1997, as Head of Strategy, Planning and Control of Credito Italiano.
In October 2000 he was appointed Head of the New Europe Division with the task of developing the leading banking position in Central Eastern Europe, accomplished through the acquisitions of Bank Pekao (Poland), Zagrebacka Banka (Croatia-Bosnia), Bulbank (Bulgaria), KocBank (50%, Turkey), Zivnostenska Banka (Czech republic), Demir Bank (Romania), Polnobanka (Slovakia).
In 2003 he became Head of Retail and CEO of UniCredit Banca. In July 2007 he was appointed Deputy CEO of the UniCredit group.
In 2009, following the new group governance model, based on Strategic Business Areas (“SBA“), he took on the Retail SBA, managing the retail networks (households and small businesses branches) in Italy, Germany, Austria e Poland; the group asset gathering e the household financing businesses.
Effective 1st November 2010, he has been appointed General Manager with responsibility for the Family & SME, Private Banking and Central Eastern Europe Strategic Business Area.
He currently serves as member of the Supervisory Boards of UniCredit Bank Austria, Bank Pekao (Poland), and of UniCredit Bank Russia.
He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Banking Association (ABI), where he chairs the Communication Committee.
Since 2009 he is Chairman of EFMA, the European Financial Management Association in Paris.
He serves in the advisory board of SDA Bocconi, Milan and of Alma School, Bologna
Marina Natale, Chief Financial Officer
Marina Natale was born in Saronno (Varese) on 13th May 1962.
She holds a degree in Business Economics from the Cattolica University of Milan.
She started her career in the Research and Planning department of UniCredit Group (then Credito Italiano) in January 1988, where she has worked to the development of a monitoring tool based on Italian banks’ financial statements and co-operated with Bank of Italy in establishing a risks analysis system for Italian banking sector.
In 1991 she moved to the Planning and Control department, where she has been responsible for a series of projects including the internal control and ALM systems implementation and the overall budgeting set-up and running.
In October 1997 she was appointed as Head of the Group M&A and Business Development department, managing the M&A operations of the Group and being responsible for more than 50 transactions. In particular, she has been responsible for the combination with HVB Group and the merger with Capitalia, overseeing all integration/reorganization processes that followed.
In July 2008 she was appointed Head of Private Banking Division with the Group title of Senior Executive Vice President.
Since May 2009 she has been Chief Financial Officer and Manager charged with preparing company’s financial reports and she has been also Member of UniCredit Group Executive Management Committee.
